NHS Dental Charges in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire

NHS charges

Charges to patients on the NHS for dentistry will depend on the amount of treatment you need to keep your mouth, gums and teeth healthy. Each course of treatment will be one charge which may take more than one visit to complete.

NHS fee guide

Band 1 This covers an examination, diagnosis (eg X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed, and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealant. Band 1 charge is £25.80.

Band 2 This covers everything listed in Band 1 above, plus any further treatment such as fillings, deep cleaning in patients with gum disease, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth. Band 2 is £70.70.

Band 3 This covers everything in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus crowns, dentures or bridges. Band 3 is £306.80

Orthodontics Assessment - £23.80

Orthodontics 18 or Over - £306.80

Urgent Treatment If you require urgent care you will pay a stand alone charge of £25.80 initially. You may have to pay additionally if you require further treatment which comes under the bandings above at subsequent appointments.

Free NHS treatment

If you are in one of the following categories you may qualify for full or part exemption from charges:

  • Under 18
  • Aged 18 and in full-time education
  • An expectant mother/mother of a child under 1 year of age
  • Receiving income support
  • Receiving working tax credit
  • Guaranteed Pension credit
  • In receipt of an HC2/HC3 certificate for full/half remission of NHS charges
  • Income support based job seekers allowance
  • Income related employment and support allowance

Proof of exemptions will need to be produced when attending a check-up or emergency appointment and if for any reason we cannot provide the treatment required for your needs through the NHS then we will discuss suitable alternatives with you.
